An Introduction to District Administration Office, Dadeldhura
District Administration Office is a general administration of government in each district of Nepal. The Government of Nepal shall appoint a Chief District Officer in each district to function as a Chief Administration Officer. The Chief District Officer shall be the representative of Government of Nepal. The Chief District Officer shall perform functions in accordance with prevailing laws, policies and directions of the Government of Nepal.
Local Administration Act, 2028 B.S. (1971 A.D.) was implemented to conduct local administration in accordance with the decentralized administration system to effectively operate peace and order. Section 5 of the Local Administration Act has been constituted to be a district administration office in every district to conduct general administration of the district. District Administration Office also established on provision Local Administration Act, 2028 B.S. Its office is located at Amargadhi Municipality Ward No. 4, Khalanga. District Administration office in each district of Nepal works under ministry of Home Affairs.
Powers and duties of the Chief District Officer
- To maintain peace, order and security in the district,
- To provide for assistance in development activities run by Government of Nepal, Province Government, Municipalities, Rural Municipalities.
- To monitor, maintain or repair or cause to monitor, maintain or repair the properties of the Government of Nepal in the district.
- To perform other functions and activities pursuant to the orders and directions issued by the Government of Nepal from time to time.
- Direction and co-ordination among security agency (Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, National Investigation Deparment (NID)) in district Nepal.
